New Year's Resolutions 2006

I am wondering if anyone has specific resolutions or changes that you have been praying about taking this new year. Not that we have to make the resolutions at this time but I think because we are thinking about it God uses this time to do some neat new things in our lifes.God has burdened me with a few specific things:One: THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: Here is a quote from another post: "I am looking forward to the trip and the time to really seek the Lord with all my heart. Though there are always distractions and problems, I know the Lord is going to allow me to seek Him and experience Him more then ever in my life before. One brother with me was speaking about the baptism of the Holy Spriit and the need for a fuller surrender to God. I am in that same place of wanting to let go more to the possibilities of grace in my life. I appreciate the prayers and support." That's a hard one but I guess mine would be to have more of a faithful and balanced physical and spiritual life that I can give to God and to the people around me, and try to let my light shine a little brighter would be a great one if I can just accomplish this, I don't want to be to hard on myself. :-)

My new year resolution I guess is to go twice as far spiritually and concerning the word of God than last year(I've only been saved a year). In all things in my life, and I hate this, I always start out good, full of zeal, then as a flame get dull and go out. I don't want this bad habit to develope concerning My Lord Jesus Christ, I know to much, have read to much, and have seen the anointing on too many great men of Old. I want that, And it is my new year resolution is to do my best to grow even as they did..Brethern Pray for me.

It is my hearts desire to grow in wisdom and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.Also, that souls will be won to Christ at the Nursing Home, and Family Members will be saved.God BlessNellie :-)

I'm about to break a resolution that I made years ago and have faithfully kept-not to make any resolutions. But I also want to keep it simple and not turn it into some form of a wishlist.Two things are on my heart, one: make this a year when I fully surrender to God, and two: greatly increase my reading of the Bible.

I don't make resolutions, I only break them.But I do want one thing though, and that is to be dead to sin and alive unto God.Brother Greg, I remember when I felt the desire of God in me to be filled with the Holy Spirit. One thing that I have learned was to seek Jesus Christ and thank Him in absolute adoration for giving me the holy Spirit, everyday. And don't tell a soul what your doing or seeking, for the Father will reward you openly.I said this because many seek tongues, power, gifts, talent but when we seek Jesus, all these things mean nothing because without Him we can do nothing. Amen brother, I posted my resolutions with hesitation but I think they will be an encouragement and even admonition to others. I think God is working in many hearts on SermonIndex and that He does want to fill and consume many hearts with divine love and light this new year. May it be so. My seeking is not for power but for Christ-likeness and Holiness.

LSI second that Amen!Not only that how can we make any resolutions if we have really turned our life over to God isn't he driving? that would be like God and I going down the road and me saying hey God take a left turn at the next stop sign, I have a feeling he might say would you like to drive? resolutions are man made not spiritual, yea I have a couple but I sure am not getting behind the wheel over them. :-?

I want that, And it is my new year resolution is to do my best to grow even as they did..Brethern Pray for me.Hi Sean,I will pray for just that and considering it has been but a year would want to encourage you in patience, something I have had a life long struggle with. Maybe the one thing not mentioned here is prayer. Pray much and pray often, pray early and even give it an attempt to rise up early in the mornings, many of these great saints of old did and I believe it is evident in their lives.

everyone has got great resolutions! i pray that they would be fufilled. i havent given much thought to mine...this new year has been very different since i spent it witnessing in Vegas. i pray that this new year im going to have more tears for the lost, more time in intercession, more anguish and travail!! my resolution for this year i guess would be to birth a soul!!
