First Time Street Preached with just me and my bible, all on my own

I have been scared about street preaching on my own for months now.Evangelising is something that every christian should do in the bible. I got up and just said a few lines, my voice was so silent first of all I think noone could hear me. The times that I have done it before I have a dear brother or sister help me, but when you are all on your own and you have to find somewhere to preach it is scary. Thankyou Lord and pray that I obey god and do what he says because I do love him

Amen Brother! The first time I open air preached it seemed at though I completely blew it! No crowd, nothing... just some people pass by and act like I'm some mad man. The more I do it.. the more I just go out and do it! I know I still procrastinate some when I get ready to preach open air. I'm no super man that's for sure! The more I do it the more love God puts in my heart that takes the fear away. The hardest part for me is just getting up on the stool, after that it just takes off. God bless you for your obedience!

Thank you for being bold enough to share that, I have thought about doing the same thing but have not worked up the nerve yet. It is safer to post here than go out into the world and do real battle. I did not think to take someone with me the first couple of times, thanks for that idea that might just be the icebreaker I need. God Bless you, I pray the Lord returns a bountiful harvest from the seeds you sow.

Last Sunday at the truck stop chapel a friend who is not a driver talked about going out by two. When you are a truck driver it is either go alone or don't go at all. You are often in bad neighborhoods at night as a driver. To have someone with you in a bad area can complicate things, you may depend on your companion and you really can't put that kind of trust in someone else anyway. You do always have Jesus with you and he is really the only one you can truly trust in a bad situation to watch your backside. There are very few people out at night in bad areas so you really don't get a crowd. It is mostly one on one. In fact if you meet a bunch of people in some areas, it is likely to be a gang. Witnessing like this isn't for everyone but if the Lord will allow you to do it, there is great victory. Take along a bible and maybe a hymn book if you sing and go to it. Foreign tracts are also good to have along in some areas. It seems every time I went out on the street the Lord would guide me to a backslidder or someone who has a family member that is a Christian. Once it was a pastors brother that the Lord had me witness and sing to.It seems to me that the key to preaching anywhere is to know the Lord wants you to do it.In Christ,GaryE

I called my friend Tammy yesterday and asked her if she wanted to go witnessing with me.I really want to go street preaching but I didn't tell her that! :) Were both pretty radical so Im sure she'll be game.Im so excited I can't sleep at night and it was all I could think about at work all day. We were protesting at the nursing home when Terry Shiavo was dying and we just stood and read from the bible but we had lights and cameras in our faces and reporters all around us.I was so scared I felt frozen stiff but once we got into reading the word we relaxed more and got a little bolder. I hope she'll go street preaching with me because I really don't know if I want to do it on my own without someone with me.Im one who doesn't care what people think but its still scary!
