Take up his cross and follow Me. (Taking up the cross would be like saying stand in front of a firing squad.)

luckyd,The verses mentioned above are atMark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. and Romans 12:1.There is also Romans 2:4, about the goodness of God leading sinful man to repent, and, a very famous verse here (in bold):Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. (2Co 5:15)That verse kinda sums up the Christian life for me. We should no longer live unto ourselves, but unto Jesus Christ. To me that's the meaning of giving your life to Christ; We are not just saved from things, we are saved unto His purpose. In Christ,Ron

I love Brother Ron's verse and here's another favorite of mine that fits what you're asking about. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. And yet another passage.1Cr 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
