please pray

Please pray for my safety, son's safety, and God giving us His wisdom in evangelizing these dangerous people who are related to my son. I found out some news on my husband (haven't seen since we separated in 2001), I found out in 2002 he is a registered sex offender (I wouldn't have married him if I knew that) anyway, now God has me humbled as wife of registered sex offender, I take His ways thankfully. Husband threatened to kill me couple times and I have seen him try to kill one guy, after having a baby I had to leave all that lifestyle (God saved me in 2001 after we separated). I do evangelize to his family as I can, also in hopes of witnessing to him too- I had learned he was in jail in far away states so I took the risk of reaching out, for Jesus' command to "love your enemies" Luke 6:27. This year I felt I should wait, not send christmas gift or anything. Now someone else told me they saw his recent registered sex offender status, and I looked up his new one, and I see husband is now in jail in the same city I live in.So I ask prayers for my safety and son's safety (my son's dad is this man). Also for this man to be saved in God's time.and please pray whatever else you think :) I need God's wisdom surely, I am taking refuge under His wings and in His promises. I appreciate the prayers though, sharing this burden. Thank you for letting me share. Jesus is worthy

Dear Jina, my prayers are with you sister

My prayers are with you as well. I've been seriously thinking over your situation. My best friend in high school lost his way and went into the pornography scene as a web designer. His closest friend (not me, but another one of his friends) went to jail for sexual assault. So I can relate with what you are going though in some small way. I have never been married myself though. The best wisdom I can give is to seek God's will before you contact his family. I have found that people I know who have been deviant sexually are often very good at manipulating people. On the other hand I've met people who have had some serious sexual problems and who have totally left the lifestyle. I went to an Exodus conference this past year in Toronto (http://www.exodusglobalalliance.org/) and found that there were a lot of people out there who have been able to overcome their lust and deviance. I will bring a prayer request for you and your husband among my young adults bible class this coming Sunday. The main problem that needs addressing in his life is finding a good relationship with the Saviour Jesus Christ. I would talk with your pastor/priest about what he thinks the best route would be for you to take. Perhaps he might suggest having you share your testimony. More likely though he will make sure that you are alright before putting a burden such as this on you. If you want to be able to communicate your faith with grace I would suggest taking an "Alpha Course" and the "Basic Life Principles Seminar." Do be careful if you do talk to him. That is to say, don't bring your child with you, and make sure that you don't approach him alone if you were to approach him.My prayers are with you. May Jesus guide you in your ways. Pray to God for guidance. Us fellow Christians can give you our suggestions and wisdom from our experiences but it is more important to figure out what Jesus himself would have you do. God bless!

Hi rocklife,First of all, I will be praying.Second of all, wsbg is right about not taking your child if you visit his dad.I know what I'm about to say will sound 'hard' but, I would say the closest you need to get to this man is, if you must, sending him your written testimony, without any information about your whereabouts. (Even if he thinks he knows where you live, there is no need for you to give him confirmation of this, unnecessarily - that is, unless a Court ordered you to - which is unlikely.)I strongly believe that sex offenders can stop offending, but, they have to want to stop and then they have to succeed in stopping. They don't just have to try for a few weeks... they have to stop forever. It is a deeply idolatrous behaviour, from which they must turn away, to worship the True and Living God.Although you may wish to be, you are not solely responsible for winning this family to Christ. It is amazing how there are at least 3 discussions going on here, which started today, on this point of responsibility for the souls of others.Jesus said:"Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 "For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother." (Mark 3)21 " Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (Matt 7)I'm not suggesting you are not doing the will of God, but, it is very tempting to assume you are - and yet your ex husband is probably having attention from the Chaplaincy at the prison, and, some sort of therapy while he's in prison. If he wants a relationship with God, he needs to seek it for himself.

thanks for talking and prayingI see I read the information wrong, his whereabouts are unknown, I read it wrongthanks for prayersMatthew 10:38 is a hard one from Jesus, how do we follow this hard thing? without being willing to evangelize and love even the most unlovable, Jesus says "love your enemies" Luke 6:27, reaching out to this man prayerfully is all in line with Jesus, I see hard things from Jesus, all I can do is what He says and copy His life example, He reached out, even in obedience in death on the crossI do need to share these hard things though, I appreciate the prayers and talks with His people

actually the evangelism this past year, about once or twice a year, and yes without my address or contact info, has been to the children of the family. The whole criminal lifestyle is done right in front of them, my husband's mom is a drug dealer too, she will sell to young people, including her kids' friends. she isn't violent though. I am not directly talking with husband, it is kind of distant, but I know his mom and their family talk about it. They know for our safety, all talks with him have to be done in court (or with police escort like when I left him). Law to the proud, grace to the humble, I still reach out though, prayerfully yes, this family is on many prayer requests, thank you again
