How Much Sin?

sermonindex Jan 26, 2006

How much sin can a Christian commit and still be a Christian? How much sin can a Christian commit and still go to heaven? What types of sins is it tolerable for a Christian to commit and what types of sin are intolerable? If salvation is not salvation from sin then what is it salvation from?

hi, one can commit sinonly til the power of the blood of Jesus is overcome by it.what sin is more powerful then the blood of Jesus? be sure your sins will find you out. i live at a ministry that has a bible collegeand one of the studentswho was on fire for God being delivered from heavy drugs and prison, backslid for about a week when his brother came to visit him.within one week he had lost his job, been arrested, kicked out of school, evicted ,bloodied and beaten. he has since repented. another person on the management team, a woman, backslid and within two weeks lost her children, her job, her home, arrested and released to live on the streets.she has also repented and is now married to a fine young man and honoring Jesus with their lives.we are saved from the spiritual penalty of sin. JESUS DID NOT DIE SPIRITUALLY, BUT PHYSICALLY. we live spiritually eternal but not physically.the deeds of the flesh will be payed for in the flesh. it is not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy that He saves us..do not put yourself in the seat of the saviour. He births us from above and we become a new creation in Christ Jesus. it is all about Him , not sin or me or you or anyone else.jimp

Hello Jimp,This is what you say..the deeds of the flesh will be payed for in the fleshThis is what God says..Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Don't believe that stuff brother, its all a bunch of lies the devil dreamed up to trick people into making peace with their sin. Lets go to war against our sins, not try and get God to sanctify them. Please pray for me in this battle that we find ourselves in and I will pray for you.God bless,

hi noel, i appreciate the Godly manner of your response and i agree with you. there is NO peace in sin but the answer is in the rest in the finished work of Jesus and not in the fight of flesh against its lure. jimp, and God be with you always.

hi, how do you suppose one enters the kingdom? is one birthed by God or does one earn this by fleshly righteousness? is Jesus the center or am i the center of the salvation story? am i keptby God against that day or am i kept by my performance? is it Christ in me the hope of glory or is it up to me. am i convicted by the Holy Spirit or condemned by the self sanctified(pharisee) i rest in the finashed work of Jesus and it is not my life but Christ's and if i go to hell resting in Jesus so be it! He has kept me and changed me for 42 years.jimp

We know that John Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world."Here is another question, how much sin does the Lamb take away from the life of the individual that recieves Him? Some or all of his sin?

I was born agian 17 years ago.My spiritual Roots are pentecostal Holiness. I was taught that you were able to and expected to live "sin free" That is, not to sin at all. I was taught thay any sin meant you were backslidin. Since then I have had to repent many times, and seek forgiveness. To many the answer may be clear, for me one scripture allways comes to mind.Philippians 2:12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
