sermonindex Jan 26, 2006

Anyone paying attention to whats going on over in the Middle East this week...? Things are getting pretty tense over there between Israel and the Palastinians ... and Iran. Any thoughts?(I'm hoping this doesnt turn into a debate over whether present-day Israel is the real Israel...)Krispy

Who wants to bet we see a war soon pitting Israel against Hamas, Iran, Syria and Hizbollah? Hamas sweeps Palestinian election Reuters - 1 hour, 5 minutes ago RAMALLAH, West Bank - Hamas won a huge majority in parliamentary elections as Palestinian voters rejected the longtime rule of the Fatah Party, throwing the future of Mideast peacemaking into question, officials from both major parties said Thursday. GAZA - The Islamic militant Hamas group swept to victory over the long-dominant Fatah party on Thursday in Palestinian parliamentary polls, a political earthquake that could bury any hope for reviving peace talks with Israel soon. Israel and the United States have said they would not deal with a government led by Hamas, which has carried out dozens of suicide bombings and which they consider a terrorist group. http://news.yahoo.com/fc/World/Mideast_Conflict/ http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060126/ap_on_re_mi_ea/palestinians_election

Anyone paying attention to whats going on over in the Middle East this week...? always. dovetailing off the subject for a second, being back in my hometown of Chicago, and gazing upon its beauty, the tall magnificent buildings, the parks, the people bustling to and fro, I find myself consistently praying , Dear God, please Lord keep your hand over this city, protect it from the forces who conspire to destroy it. Lord please bring healing to the races, and bring revival where white will take the hand of black and worship together in Spirit and in Truth, amen.Steve, I feel that anyday now, you will hear that eerie voice saying, "We have breaking news...", and we will hear about explosions over Iran, or tehran. It will happen. There's no doubt. Israel will NEVER permit a nuclear tipped ISLAMIC republic of Iran, not with the type of rhetoric you hear out of Iran. The attack will be different from the one on the Iraqi nuclear facilities at Osirak in 1981. True they might use aircraft, but it won't be aircraft alone. They now have german built Dolphin-class subs, which had the amidships portion hollowed out by the manufacturer. This amidships portion has probably been reconfigured for cruise missiles, cruise missiles that can have nuclear warheads. These dolphins probably patrol in the Red Sea and Persian gulf.Once the attack is over, a couple things could happen. A concerted arab effort to throttle oil exports, which would put oil significantly over the 100 a barrel mark, which would lead to 5 to 7 dollar gasoline. That would hurt this country bad, probably crater the real estate market. You could even see moderate arab countries go radical islamist, if egypt went islamist, they might shut down the suez canal, which would be very ruinous for the global economy.like in Lord of the Rings, this is the deep breath before the plunge. But we have Jesus, praise Him, He helps us in our weakness, and we all will be ok.God bless you sir.

thought this would make interesting reading here's a link to the Hamas charter remember these people are now the official governing party for the 'palestinian' people:Hamas Charter (1988)pay particular note to article 13 about three quater through it says: There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and International Conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility. The Palestinian people are too noble to have their future, their right and their destiny submitted to a vain game.well that i think says it allmatt

May I add one more link to read about Israel, the West and Iran.http://www.jewishworldreview.com/0106/hanson011906.php3?printer_friendly.The Hamas organisation looks to Iran for its inspiration. We need to wake up to see what's really on the agenda, not just the anihilation of the State of Israel, but also the downfall of the West and islamisation of the world. Sue

I'm watching with a great deal of interest, personally speaking.

the downfall of the West An Australian writer predicted the downfall of the West in his book 'The Hungry Ape', which was an examination of what causes civilisations to thrive or crumble. He gave us a maximum of 150 more years, based on historical data - that leaves a little over a century till we return to peasantry.... mainly through greed and failing to look after our own during times of plenty. Apparently, that's when people get careless about their young, their morals and their defences. During hard times, when food is scarce and the birth rate falls naturally, family values rise up the agenda and a healthy community mindset takes over. Needless to say, the book (by Jim Penman) was not well received at the time and did not go to worldwide distribution or second print. In other words, maybe we don't have to blame another religion if it happens.... maybe our own society's godlessness is doing it already.

The word of God declares:Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.If you look in the Old Testement you will find that when the children of Israel forsook their God, God sent them adversaries to rough them up so that they would acknowledge their God once again. But it came to the place where they were not even heeding the warnings, so God sent a nation in and destroyed or ruled over them. The reason why there is such an increase of unrest in the world is not because of Israel persay, it's the United States of America. She is not heeding the warnings, the more she rebels and rejects God and His word and count it as nothing, the more North Korea, Iran, Palestine, Iraq, and even her own citizens are being stirred up in utter rebellion against her.Israel hates the Gospel, the United States on the other hand started out on the Gospel it's whole beginning was based upon "In God We Trust". She has been a witness to the power of God even in her recent history, but she is now passing laws against the very founders wishes. We may read the Bill of Rights, we may read the Constiution, but in practicality those rights are not being upheld today.

brethreni was reading as led of the Lord the writings of bro Katz and he spoke of the necessary destruction of Israel. He speaks of Israel as being a fiercley defiant and independant nation which must first be brought low so as to be compelled to seek the Lord in all earnesty. this coming to power of hamas has some role in the bigger scheme (not sure how exactly) of bringing Israel low so as to repent and also the church establishment as we know it must also be torn down to make way for the Lord ro revive and restore both Israel and the Church to what the Lord intended.Revival is indeed coming.AMEN.
