Prosperity Preachers

sermonindex Jan 26, 2006

In Romans 11:9 it says that the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. Also the bible says that the grace of God covers all of our sins and the Apostle Paul always warned christians not to abuse this grace Rom 6:15 although the prosperity preachers do. I do not believe they are ignorant of what they are doing. You look at people like Benny Hinn and other prosperity preachers and God is evidently still using them although Im sure the work is hindered greatly. While I know that we all sin in all sorts of ways there is alot of christians abusing the grace of God.There is a difference in sinning and being covered and sinning because you know your going to be covered. You may think be thinking "I don't believe any christian would try to do such a thing." It sounds sick but they do.I heard a bunch of prosperity preachers boasting about the grace of God and how it will all be covered. They will loose alot of their reward though but maybe they don't care.I know alot of christians think well it must be ok to covet after money because God is still using them.God may still use them but one day they will have to give an answer. Their are alot of preachers out there who will heap to themselves riches because they know the grace of God covers and many christians will follow after them.Christians need to see through what is going on.These people are no different than any other christian who decides they want to sin once in awhile because God will forgive me later. It's a horrible mindset and very sick but they have decided they want what they want and thats what they do and that is what they do! God will use these people to some degree but some day they will have to give an answer.I guess we all do but some sins are more open and blatant and need to be exposed. You wonder how these prosperity preachers seem to go on their merry way and it doesn't seem to bother their conscience. Well thats because all they think about is how the grace of God will cover them and the gifts and callings of God are without repentance so they will do as they please at the expense of many but they don't care because they will all go home to their mansions and private golf courses and try to forget it all but God keeps a record.

Does the grace of God really cover them? Or are they hiding behind a false definition of 'grace'? Hebrews 10:25-31 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

These "teachers" are either wildly deceived, or they have no fear of God. I refuse to judge whether they are truly saved or not... but considering that they have an incredibly false understanding of who God is, it does make one wonder.Krispy

I know alot of christians use this verse to say we can loose our salvation.Do you believe we can loose our salvation? I just see alot of christians who are called by God into the ministry that willfully abuse the grace of God.It must happened because Paul mentions should christians sin willfully so that grace may abound? answer:GOD FORBID v.?(Don't have my concordance w/ me). Than he says if we do we make ourselves a transgressor. I looked up transgresser in the Websters as follows: Transgress: to step beyond or across 1. to go beyond the limits set by (~the divine law) 2.to go beyond: EXCEED 3.:SIN -transgresion\\transgressor Paul was definately talking to christians when he said this so what does this all mean? Can a christian take money from other christians and live an expensive lifestyle and just ask God later to forgive them? It's like racking up your credit card knowing fully well your going to file for bankruptcy.

The whole thing is sick!!! Its like a whole bunch of money hungry preachers saying: "O goody Jesus died for our sins so lets grab the offering plate and go run to the shopping mall and stuff our trunks full of stuff!!!"

amen... it is sick. But it is important to realize there are also a lot of people in the pews with the same attitude about other sins. Too many christians have the attitude that 'we can sin, because Jesus died for us'. This clearly isnt true, according to the bible. Hebrews 12:13-17 "And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears."This set of verses clearly is not talking about the positional holiness found in Christ, but he speaks of actions and the way we live our lives. Then he mentions Esau, who had an inheritance but sold it for a morsel of food (all of the riches of the world are but a morsel of food). As far as what I think about whether Hebrews 10:26-31 says you can lose your salvation or not... it doesnt matter what I think. It only matters what the verses clearly teach when put into context of the verses before and after them.
