Hello I'm Josh Wise. I just signed on or registered or whatever. I really like the website. My dad showed it to me. I've been hooked ever since. A brief history of me. I was raised in a good solid christian home. Good parents. They're not perfect but I couldn't have asked for better. So anyway I grew up in church doing the whole sunday school VBS thing. I knew all the answers. It was great. Until my Sophmore year in high school. I got hooked into online porn. I was able to live the lie for 2 years or so. I was perfect. I had everyone fooled. No one knew. Not my parents anybody. Well the summer before my Sr. year in highschool God got ahold of me. I got on my face and repented. I couldn't keep it up anymore. I got staight with my parents, with my friends, with just about everybody. Since then God's called me to be a youth pastor. I'm going to college to get a degree in religion and philosophy. So that a brief history of me. Well catch you all later. One Love.

Josh,Welcome to the website. I am glad you took the time to register and become more active on the site. With the registeration you can send private messages, post on the forums and leave comments on sermons and photos. I hope you dive into the audio sermon materials that are freely available. If you haven't yet I would recommend you start with this sermon by Paris Reidhead: Ten Shekels and a Shirt.

Hi Josh...Welcome to SermonIndex! I was also saved during the summer while in high school. I was quite agnostic before meeting the Lord. I was a "nice guy" -- with good grades, alot of friends, popularity, and a whole future to look forward to. I went to Church (mostly because my parents forced me), but everyone just assumed I was a Christian. But I did not know God. Eventually, my belief that God existed began to outweigh my unbelief.Late one night while I was at a Christian summer camp, I walked out in the field -- knowing that I needed to know God. I could feel the emptiness of my soul from living without knowing the Lord. The weight of my condition seemed to overwhelm me. In my heart of hearts, I could hear the Lord speak to me, "You don't know me. Come to me...and I will give you rest." That night, while standing alone in a field, I told the Lord, "God, I will give up all that I am, and all that I will ever be, if I can just know you, and be your friend." Immediately, I felt the Lord wrap around my heart! It was the most awesome night of my life! I remember laying in my bunk later that night thinking that I didn't care if I lived or died because I now knew the Lord!Thank you for sharing. May you be both encouraged and challenged by your time here! :-)

It is very precious and encouraging to see what the Lord can do to bring a person into authentic faith. I look forward to dialoguing with you in future threads. Clearly, you have much to offer. Chris, I'm so thrilled that you added your testimony here. Just an hour ago I broused through your site looking to learn more about you - and here it is! Why not put your testimony on your site - as you just shared here. What a blessing it is to see you young men here on SI sharing your spirtual journey and insights. Diane
