I need to pray!Prayer is so hard for me, I really wonder whyI can’t stay focused on my knees, even when I tryI get so overwhelmed with life, because it’s always in despairThis is a good reason to pray! I still don’t seem to careI know that I should pray, this I really knowI always make an appointment with Jesus, and then I just don’t goWhy! Why! Why don’t I pray, I know that this isn’t rightMy Flesh and spirit always fight; my conscience hounds me day and nightSometimes I wish I wasn’t saved, so I didn’t have to know the truthBut prayer is to Christianity as the Salvation Army is to William BoothI try to make time for Jesus, I just get so lazyRight before my eyes the narrow road becomes hazyPlease God help me, I just don’t feel like prayingI miss the communication with you, oh! I feel my strength decayingI know who you are Jesus, I know I’ve been born again! It feels as though the fire in my heart is dwindlingI know your still inside of me because I love to witness to the lostI’ll win a soul to you any day, and at just about any costWhy is it so hard to give you at least one hour a day?I’ll give you ten percent of my money, but time I will not payI know what the bible says about prayer, it’s really all my faultI listen to my natural mind rather than what the Holy Spirit has taughtYou know, I just can’t take it, I’m sick of my fleshI know that laziness and rebellion, with you God it does not meshIt’s so selfish of me to not pray for anyone elseYou know Jesus; I just realized why I don’t pray….I refuse to die to myself. -Anonymous
