Hello, I am a 30-year old lifelong believer and father to a young family, recently awakened to my nonchalance as a soldier of Christ. We currently live in an intentional community in rural Illinois. It is a Mennonite Church, although we have chosen not to formally affiliate ourselves with this or any denomination.My wife and I continue to long for church as an intentional community, practicing a nurturing life together and a "set apartness" that is not typical in our American culture. This is partly a stewardship issue, and it's clear to us that caring for people requires caring for the earth that God provided to sustain those people. Legal and rationally justifiable greed (even from those who claim Christ) fuels war, poverty and degradation around the world. However, I have recently been reminded that "my hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness". And to rightly understand that blood and righteousness we must embrace and imbibe the whole Word of God, including those parts that contradict our cultural sense of love and justice. As Reidhead states in Ten Shekels, human blessing is "a byproduct, not a prime product" of God's will.Although we haven't taken the Mennonite label, I've found a lot of resonance with conservative and evangelical Anabaptists. While perusing some such sites last December, I noticed a lot of Tozer references. Unfamiliar with him, I googled to sermonindex and after after 2 months of digestion here I am.I just have to share the wealth. Downloads and podcasting are great, but I find that you can't beat having a well-indexed spiritual library handed to you on a silver platter.So I've put some effort into collecting SI content onto MP3 discs, bundled with printable disc labels and case inserts. In Windows PCs they autorun a playback menu, Bible program and duplication tools, using a collection of freeware. MP3 sampling/naming and software are all chosen for maximum disc player and PC compatability. See sermondisc.net for details.
