Am I Missing Something?

Dear S.I. Brothers & Sisters,I bring greetings in the Name and Love of Jesus Christ. I want to bring this to the forum because it is troubling my spirit.I belong to a ministry that claims it does not adhere to the Word of Faith doctrine, Positive Confession, or any of the other "movements" that have swept the Church as of late. This thread is not an invitation to debate weather the above mentioned are Biblical or a legitimate moves of God or not. I just want to know how I can reconcile the fact that for a ministry that claims it does not endorse the "Faith" movement, give a platform to a very controversial preacher like Morris Cerullo at one of their biggest mens conferences?I cannot understand why the leadership of this ministry would invite Morris Cerullo as a speaker to address the thousands of men that are the leaders and future leaders of this ministry.Am I missing something? Hello, I don't know the person mentioned, which is probably just as well, ;o) but I thought I"d share this with you. I hope it helps."When someone SHOWS you who they are, believe them."(IE talk is cheap, and you can trust actions more than you can trust WORDS)

I'm afraid we've entered the Apostasy from Truth friend.Few want to hear that, but I can see it from the difference from 30 years ago.We don't like to here the words "sound doctrine" or "absolutes" in Truth anymore. Most say, "we can't know what's really True Truth."We get nervous when someone even says "Truth" or even "Doctrine" anymore. You've not missed anything, if that's the case, and you're not part of it.Sounds like they are though.Sad huh ?

Yes it's very sad. If I was to ask the church leadership why this man was allowed to address the future leaders of this ministry, I would probably be labeled as devisive or judgemental.I did not attend the conference, but I am a member of this ministry. Thats why it is troubling me...Rednosepit

I'm sorry brother. I know this pain you feel. There isn't much you 'can' do, because that 'is' the response you'll receive ... but it wouldn't hurt to respectfully request a hearing with whomever is in charge and pose your question just as you have in your first post here. That's about all you can do.I see so many coming out and looking for like-minded brothers and sisters.Where I'm from, they're all in house-fellowships now.I'm sorry and I sincerely grieve with you.I think of Jesus Prayer in John 17, "that they may be one, as You and I are One." .... Someday friend, someday !Keep the true Faith. He'll BLESS you. Sometimes He just says, "Come away my Beloved" and we learn alone with Him the most.God Bless you deeply.Annie too

hi, morris is a copycat of ken copeland who is a copycat of ken hagin who loved Jesus and His people and was not rich like his followers.we all are somewhat off base in our doctrine but morris and ken copeland scare me but cannot hurt me because i rest only in the finished work of Jesus and am not chasing any thrills greater than the preasence of the Holy Spirit in my life.

Morris Cerullo sent a friend of mine who is mentallly disabled a letter saying he could join his council of elders for a contribution of $1000.00 dollars. Fortunately he showed this to some people who were able to guide him in the right direction. These are not the type of characteristics that should be passed down to future leaders.Murray

morris is a copycat of ken copeland who is a copycat of ken hagin who loved Jesus and His people and was not rich like his followersI refuse to judge whether Hagin "loved Jesus and His people", but one thing I do know: Hagin was a false teacher, plain and simple. His writings and teachings should be avoided. His teachings of WOF doctrine has done more damage to the cause of Christ than any other psuedo-christian movement in the last 100 years. When I was first saved I got caught up in WOF because I didnt know any better, and the church we attended in Knoxville TN was basically an extension of Rhema Bible College (which Hagin started)... so I know what I am talking about. They all need to be marked and avoided just as scripture commands us to do:Rom 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. Notice Paul didnt tell us to read their books and go to their conferences.Krispy

It infuriates me that these men lie to people who are simply trying to seek some truth... and they derail them, and empty their wallets in the process.Krispy

Krispy,God bless you brother, I feel the same way. I mean our ministry is a beautiful one. When it first started (when it had very little) the only choice we had was to depend on Jesus, but since then (39 years ago) we have prospered and God has blessed us monetarily and spiritually, and it seems as though we are falling into the same groove of compromise that has prooved fatal for other ministries who may have started out right but for what ever reason fell away.I think I'm going to prayerfully ask the leadership why do we give a platform to men who are main liners in the WOF movement. Awhile back at our "Mother Church" Rod Parsely was a special guest speaker...If we dont endorse their teaching why invite them to address our sheep?Rednosepit

Red... I would encourage you to approach your leadership. I think you should. But at the same time I will caution you to not expect them to change. If they do not change you have but one option: leave. We are told in scripture to seperate from those who teach error, and avoid them. Even if your leadership doesnt agree with WOF doctrine, the fact that they have had WOF speakers come in tells me that they are leaders by name only. What good shepherd would allow wolves to come right into the midst of their flock and lead them?Krispy
